Flamingo is one of the 1940s hotels that have updated their property to keep up with the ever changing Las Vegas Strip. Flamingo is a fun casino with a Great Vegas atmosphere. We make it a point to stop into the Flamingo to gamble. This is a place where we have the most luck.
Located in the heart of the strip next to Paris, Caesars, Bellagio, Harrah's, Ballys, Venetian, and more, so it is easy walk to other Casinos.
Flamingo Rooms:
The Flamingo has a mix match of rooms from old to new, but we have found all of them to be clean and with the some of the greatest views of the Las Vegas Strip.
The Flamingo Go Rooms are updated with nice bedding; flat screen TV's, updated bathrooms and showers. The room is no bigger than a regular room and you really have to like Pink to enjoy these rooms, even the hallway is pink. The rooms are fun none-the-less.
One major thing about the Flamingo Go rooms that we really did not like was the CFLs (compact florescent lights) above the bed. When they were lit, it made the room feel cold like a factory. Plus they vibrated and did not give off much light unless you were underneath them. The lights need to be warmer (more yellow) or they need to switch to LED lights to save money.
Basic Rooms:
The basic rooms were just that "basic". The decor was tan. The TV was an old console. The Picture on the TV needed some help, especially on the "Casino" channels. We never expect the TV remote to work all the time, and it did not.
The bathrooms in the basic rooms need an update. The paint was coming off the ceiling in the shower (this was an access panel to get to the HVAC unit (air conditioning)). We found an old earing underneath the sink on the floor. We could tell it was old because the earring was tarnished. Other than that all the esentials were clean.
The Elevators to your room can be hard to find because they are not all together. If you go up the wrong elevators it can be a maze to get to your room, but the directions are clearly marked.
Flamingo Amenities:
The Flamingo has a Health Spa. five outdoor swimming pools. Shopping arcade. Tennis Club.
Flamingo Pool:
We have to make better mention of the swimming pools, simply one of the best on the Vegas Strip. A huge area with great looking landscaping and fun water-slides.
